This past weekend on August 17th Cbus and Genoa Park hosted a Soul Fest. Admission was free to the public and the event was from 4-11pm. Food vendors, soul food vendors, and live music were at the park. Local as well as nationally known talent graced the different stages and serenated the ears of listeners. Being able to handle and accept rejection is not always easy, but it is a part of life. However, rejection is not necessarily indicative of our character and who we are. Some of us take rejection personal, it’s not always personal. Many of us have suppressed childhood trauma. Some of that trauma can include rejection, fear, neglect, and abandonment. Regardless it is our responsibility to work through those triggers and feelings. The actions of others should not sway our emotions and responses.
